THE BERLIN CANDY BOMBER – MASTER RAGPICKER

Download/View the Flyer for the Event
Ragpicker.org is sponsoring an event brought forward by one of our most recent Ragpickers, Brian Kay. Brian’s Grandfather, Colonel Gail Halvorsen is the Berlin Candy Bomber who dropped hope candy and other necessities to children in war-torn Berlin.

One Piece of Candy Turned into 20 Tons of Help

Gail is a perfect example of a Ragpicker. His inspiration to drop candy with his own handkerchief as a makeshift parachute turned into other “drops” and after the media caught on, people responded throughout the world and sent items for the “Candy Bomber” to drop. Ultimately 20 tons of supplies were dropped!

How we will Help The Christmas Box House

The Christmas Box House

In the tradition of the “Candy Bomber” we will be gathering donations for The Christmas Box House from their WISH LIST of items needed and will “drop” them from the Bank of American Fork hot air balloon via parachutes. Colonel Halverson will personally drop the donated items. A hearty “Thank You” goes out to Bank of American Fork for providing the balloon and the pilot.

Hiya, I am really glad I’ve found this info. Nowadays bloggers publish only about gossip and web stuff and this is really irritating. A good website with interesting content, that is what I need. Thank you for making this web-site, and I’ll be visiting again. Do you do newsletters? I Can not find it.
